During the WEA Mission Commission Online Conference last week I had the joy of giving a presentation on “Developing leaders intergenerationally”. This is surely where my heart lies. How do we develop leaders across the generations and from the generations? How can the older leaders invest into the younger ones and what might be some of the implications?
I encouraged:
* INTEGRATION: Invite younger leaders to your table (make space for them and be willing to share your stages)
* COLLABORATION: Invite them into your kitchen and cook with them (treat younger leaders on the same eye level and together develop the meal, even when the kitchen might become a bit messy)
* INNOVATION: Move to a new table all together (instead of welcoming them to the old table, how about moving all together and create new spaces, new leadership types etc.)To reach the world, it needs all of us!
